If there is one thing that is true about newborn babies, it's that they are unpredictable.  Working with newborn babies day in and day out requires compassion and patience with these brand new little people.  Even when babies get a little fussy, I never get flustered with them during a newborn session.  With a little preparation, like a good feed beforehand, most babies zonk out during most of their portrait session.  Once in a while, though, I do catch a baby on an off day.  Sometimes babies get belly aches or are going through a growth spurt and need to eat more than normal.  This little gal came in one morning for her newborn session and was having such a sad day.  It was obvious that something was bothering her.  Since her family lived so close by, I offered to let them come back on another day to see if maybe it was just that one day when she wasn't feeling 100%.  Sure enough, she seemed so much more comfortable the second day.  She slept most of the time and barely made a peep.  

She was such a pretty little baby and had the cutest head of hair.  Here are a few that we got on the first day.  Even if she was a little unhappy, just look how cute she is!

On the second day that we met, she went right to sleep and was so happy and cozy the entire time.  I loved working with her.  She let us pose her in all kinds of colors and cute props.
