{Raleigh-NC-Newborn-Photographer} Meeting the New Baby Brother

I met this family a few years ago (what seems like yesterday) when they signed up for a fall mini-session in Raleigh.  The photos from their session back then are still some of my favorites and can be found in my portfolio.  I was so excited when I heard from them this winter that they were expecting their second baby, a little boy.  I couldn't wait to meet him.

He was such a beautiful and calm little guy.  He was so easy going and was so sleepy for his newborn portrait session.  We did the session at my new studio in Fuquay Varina.  He was just as cute as his sister and a joy to work with.  Of course, it was also fun to see his parents again and get to chat with them during the session.  Big sister wasn't able to come to the newborn session, but I got to see her a couple of months later so they could get some shots of the two children together.

This little pose is fun to do with babies.  It looks so funny to see them sitting up like this, but I start with this shot during many sessions mostly because babies usually love it.  I think it has something to do with being wrapped up in layers of fabric, but babies get so comfortable when wrapped like this. Don't worry, this baby is actually being supported by mom's hand.  It's just not visible because it is edited out afterwards.  It's not safe to position a baby like this without keeping a hand on him.

We wanted to use some shades of blue and green with this little guy.  I love this shade of green with babies.  It's so soft and light.  If you look closely, it looks like he's going to have red hair, just like his sister.  I also love using soft blue with babies.  This little guy barely made a peep the whole time he was in the studio.

We had a wonderful morning taking pictures of this little cutie.  If you are interested in a newborn portrait session for your little arrival, I offer sessions like this both at my home studio as well as in your own home.  I serve Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay Varina, and surrounding areas of the Triangle.  Email me at erica@ericacourtinephotography.com and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about a photography session.
